Begin typing a few characters to start the search. Search looks for the criteria in the name and description of the user's content. Results will appear when the user pauses or finishes typing. Continue typing to narrow the search. The results will disappear when the user clicks away from the search/results window. Using quotes ("x") around your criteria will search for exactly and only that criteria. To broaden your search, do not use quotes.
Results will show up to 20 items in each of the categories below, in this order. If there are fewer than 20 items in a category, more results can be offered for the next category. There will always be a maximum of 120 results. The results include icons indicating the type of resource (i.e. form or workflow), and also indicates the location of the resource, such as the project name.

The Designer Search works much like other searches you are familiar with. Here are some tips to help you find the results you expect:
- Using quotes ("x") around your criteria will search for exactly and only that criteria. To broaden your search, do not use quotes.
- Periods (dots) that are not followed by whitespace are searchable, including Internet domain names. If you have a project named 'example.com', searching for example, example., or .com will all find the project in your results.
- A period followed by whitespace will search for the word after the whitespace seperately. If you have a project named 'example. com project', searching for example. or . com will work, but . project will not return any results.
- The "@" character splits words, so email addresses are not considered one word. If you have a project named 'tom@example.com' searching for tom, tom@, @, and @example will all find the project in your results.
- Searching for two words that are not in order may return no results. For example, if your workflow is named 'Purchase Order Request' and you search for Purchase Request, there will be no results. Broaden you search by searching for one word, or words you know are in order.

To search your task list, continue to use the Search Tasks feature. This Search feature currently does not search for controls within forms or workflows. You can search for controls by opening your form or workflow designer, and using your browser search function (i.e. Ctrl-f) to search for a control name. |
