You must install the Oracle Java Development Kit (JDK) or the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) before installing . Although will run with either JAVA package, the Insight Server requires the JAVA_HOME environment variable so to be set it to the installation directory for the Java package that you install. .

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Click the System icon
  3. Click the Advanced System Settings.
  4. Click the Environment Variables button.
  5. Under System Variables, click New.
  6. Enter the variable name as JAVA_HOME.
  7. Enter the variable value as the installation path for the Java Development Kit or the Java Runtime Environment.
  8. Click 'OK'.
  9. Click 'Apply Changes'.
